| Meetings.
We meet once a month at the headquarters for the Williamson
County Democratic Party at 112-B East Fowlkes Street in Franklin,
TN. Meetings are open to members and non-members. A playroom
is available for children who are old enough to play or watch
a video without supervision.
Membership. We have members at every level of activity
and commitment. Membership is open to every resident of Williamson
County regardless of age, gender, race, ethnic origin, disability
or sexual orientation.
Dues. Annual membership dues are $15.00.
Of that, three dollars goes to the Tennessee Federation of
Democratic Women (TFDW) for membership dues and one dollar
goes to the TFDW’s Jean Livingston Fund for women seeking
public office.
Goals. The dues are used to support the goals
of the WCDW which are:
- to encourage and stimulate Democratic women to take an
active interest in party matters;
- to inform Democratic women and the community of major
issues in government and politics;
- to sponsor activities with the Williamson County Democratic
Party, the Tennessee Democratic Party, and the Democratic
National Committee; and
- to endorse and actively support the Democratic nominees
in all general elections.
Projects. Our recent service projects have
benefited: Gilda’s Club, Mid-Cumberland Community Action
Agency, Williamson County Rescue Squad, Mercy Children’s
Clinic, Williamson County Child Advocacy Center, Williamson
County African American Heritage Foundation, Bridges Women’s
Shelter, and the Franklin Public Library.
